Located in the scenic Pokhara valley lies the second largest lake in Nepal, Fewa Lake. It is second in size only to Lake Rara in the Mugu disrict of Nepal but Fewa Lake still covers an impressive area of about 4.43 square kilometers (1.7 square miles) averaging a depth of about 8.6 meters (28 ft).Pokhara has many beautiful attractions but a boat ride on the serene Fewa Lake can be considered one of the most breathtaking. You can rent a colorfully painted wooden rowboat along the sides of the lake for as little as an hour or for a whole day of boating fun. If one is looking to spend a quiet afternoon floating blissfully along the water, this is the lake to do that. The lake's scenery is further encircled by the Sarangkot and Kaskikot hills that surround the lake, and a pagoda-style Talbarahi temple that rests near the lake. The temple is close enough to the water that it is easy to get a closer look at this holy Hindu shrine and view this beautiful piece of architecture from the confort of the boat. Even the wildlife is interesting with many varieties of fish making the lake their home. This Lake, with its wide range of scenery, is worth every minute you spend floating on the calm water.
