Located in the Shiba-koen district of Minato in Tokyo, the Tokyo Tower is the second tallest structure in Japan and the world's tallest self-supported steel tower. At 333 meters above the city, the structure serves as a communications and observation tower. Construction was completed in 1958, and it was designed to represent Japan's post-war economic rise. It was Japan's tallest structure until 2012, when the Tokyo Skytree inched by it. The tower is a popular tourist spot, and there are many attractions inside. Below the tower is the "FootTown" building, which contains gift shops, cafes, and restaurants. In addition, there is an indoor amusement park called the One Piece Tower that has many manga-themed shows, games, and attractions. There are two observation decks, a Main Observatory at 150 meters and a smaller Special Observatory at 250 meters. Its colorful lighting at night provides great photo opportunities.
